Edgetech 4200 Sidescan Sonar
Our Vessel, Knave I, is equipped with an EdgeTech 4200 Side Scan Sonar.
The 4200 Side Scan Sonar is for use in almost any survey application from shallow water to deep water. The 4200 utilizes EdgeTech’s Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology to provide crisp, high resolution imagery at ranges up to 50% greater than non-CHIRP systems. Our Side Scan Sonar operates on 300/900 kHz dual simultaneous frequency. Thus, allowing us to achieve 3 cm and 1 cm across track resolution, respectively.
Our Side Scan Sonar is equipped with Multi-Pulse (MP) technology, which places two sound pulses in the water rather than one pulse like a conventional side scan sonar system. This allows us to survey at greater speeds while still maintaining 100% bottom coverage. The MP technology will provide twice the resolution when operating at normal tow speeds, thus, allowing for better target detection and classification ability
Our Side Scan Sonar is also accompanied with a Shark Marine winch and 500 meters of armoured coaxial cable, allowing us to achieve great survey depths.
